Reading Scripture 2019

Did you know that God wants to spend time with you? Let that question sink in for just a second.

The God of the universe wants to spend time with you. And not only does he want to spend time with you, but he wants to tell you about himself, what he likes and doesn’t like, and what he wants you to do. The apostle Paul reminded the Christians in Rome about God’s desire for them to know his will:

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. ― Romans 12:2 (ESV)

So because this is God’s desire for you, and because we at Purpose Church have a conviction to see people connect with God, we are going to read Scripture together. To help with that we have a cool little app called, “Read Scripture” that is for both IOS and Android. Here’s a quick video to introduce you to it:

I’m so excited about all of us going through the whole Bible together this year. Like the video said, if you spend 15-20 minutes every day, you can get through the Bible.

But Brian: I don’t have a smartphone. What do I do?

A couple of things for you. First, you can download the reading plan (PDF) at the bottom of this post. Second, both the Sunday morning and Thursday evening worship programs will have the reading plan for you.

This is not a New Year’s resolution invitation. Rather, it’s simply an invitation to see God transform you as you spend time with him in his word. I’m convinced we will see God do incredible things in and through us as we all join in together as a community to spend time with him.

Will you be part of this? If so, email me and let me know. [Click here to let Brian know you’re in].

I love you all more than you know,
