You All Came to Mind

And [God] said, ‘Behold, I am making a covenant. Before all your people I will do marvels, such as have not been created in all the earth or in any nation. And all the people among whom you are shall see the work of the LORD, for it is an awesome thing that I will do with you.” — Exodus 34:10 (ESV)

As I came across this verse this morning in my time with Jesus, I was stopped in my tracks like a deer who comes across a mountain lion on the path in front of him. I read it again. I grabbed my highlighter and marked it up in my Bible like a kid passionately coloring a picture in her coloring book. And here’s what I wrote in my journal:

“Oh God — I pray this verse as a reality for my family; for Purpose Church; for the Purpose Claremont community; for our nation and world. Please, I pray, create new things that leave us revived in following you.”

I want to see God do such incredible and mind-boggling things that we are left in awe of all of it. Luke recorded in Acts 2 that “awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles” (Acts 2:43). Oh how I long for this same exact thing.

I am so thankful that I get to walk this journey called life with each and every single one of you. I am beyond grateful that we get to engage in the mission that Jesus has given us as a community to see EVERYONE EVERYWHERE FOLLOWING JESUS. And I am excited to see what God continues to do, expecting and believing that the best and speech-robbing things are still to come.

I truly do love you more than you know.     Brian
